What is the Society doing to help mark this important Anniversary?

North West Kent Family History Society has agreed to take part in the  War Graves Photographic Project which in association with The Commonwealth War Graves Commission is seeking to photograph every war grave/memorial.

Society Volunteers are  assisting the WGPP by rephotographing all the War Graves in the Cemeteries in the NWKFHS area. Many of the photographs held by the WGPP need to be updated.

Each of the Society's 3 Branches, Bromley, Dartford and Sevenoaks have appointed a co-ordinator to organise the photography of war graves within their area. The Society's Publications and Projects Co-ordinator is overseeing and coordinating the collecting of the photographs and forwarding them to the WGPP  where they will be used to update their records on the  War Graves Photographic Project Website.

Not only Military grave stones will be photographed by the Society. Memorials to Civilian casualties will also be included.
